Say hello to my little friend!!!
I am super excited with my newest acquisition. It's a Bella Cucina ROCKET blender. SO. FREAKING. AWESOME.
Bella comes with 4 glasses that can be put on the blender blades PLUS a small food processor. I've already used her to make watermelon-lime-cilantro pop-sicles (only 40 calories each) and a banana coffee ice cream milk shake (only 190 calories).
Also, I have the stuff to make my own salsa and hummus this week! I am super stoked!!!!!!
Smoothies, anyone??? Yummmmmm.
Recipe for Watermelon-lime-cilantro popsicles
Photo coming soon ...
3 cups watermelon
3 tbsp fresh lime juice
1 tbsp fresh honey
6 tbsp Splenda (or sugar)
2 tbsl cilantro
Put all in blender and blend until smooth. Pour into popsicle molds. If you don't have molds, you can pour it into dixie cups and stick a popsicle stick in em.
I'm totally making those popsicles tonight! Yum! (without the splenda, egh).
ReplyDeleteI added ice to it the same ingredients this morning and had it as a smoothie. SO GOOD!!!!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I use greek yogurt instead of tahini in hummus (which is healthy but full of fat)...i still use like a tablespoon just for the yummy nutty taste of it though.
ReplyDeleteI hate Greek yogurt. It makes me want to vomit :P blech*
ReplyDeleteMy mom has an amazing hummus recipe that she promises to send my way ... but hasn't She also apparently has a lower fat recipe. I'll let you know when it comes :-)
But I don't fear fat - I rarely get the amount suggested for me. I just watch calories, protein and carbs.
